Best Paper Award
An unexpected and deeply encouraging epilogue to an inspiring week at the CCT Conference 2026 in Kyoto, Japan. Although I unfortunatley had already left before the awards ceremony, I was delighted to learn that my paper, “Zone of Danger: Affective Capacities and Enacted Consumption Strategies in the Urban Frontiers,” received the conference’s Best Paper Award in the Competitive Papers Track. This paper came straight out of my conflict market research project, generously financed by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
I’m especially happy to see this hybrid ethnography of young people navigating everyday life in vulnerable neighbourhoods receive this recognition. It has been an incredibly engaging and rewarding project, which makes the award especially meaningful to me. My sincere thanks to the award committee for recognizing this work.
